Marinated Steak Recipe
Marinated Steak
1. Prepare the Marinade:
- In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, olive oil, Worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, honey (or maple syrup), black pepper, dried oregano, and smoked paprika if using. Mix until well combined.
2. Marinate the Steak:
- Place the steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish.
- Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it's evenly coated.
- Seal the bag or cover the dish with plastic wrap and let it marinate in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to 24 hours. The longer, the better for flavor absorption.
3. Bring to Room Temperature:
- About 30 minutes before cooking, take the steak out of the refrigerator to bring it to room temperature. This ensures more even cooking.
4. Cook the Steak:
- Preheat your grill, stovetop grill pan, or oven.
- Remove the steak from the marinade and let excess marinade drip off.
- Grill the steak for 4-6 minutes per side for medium-rare, or adjust the time based on your desired doneness.
- Alternatively, you can pan-sear or bake the steak based on your preference.
5. Rest and Slice:
- Allow the steak to rest for about 5-10 minutes before slicing. This helps retain the juices.
6. Garnish and Serve:
- Garnish the sliced steak with fresh herbs like rosemary or thyme.
- Serve with your favorite sides and enjoy!
